Hooks wins Republican nomination for sheriff; Blanton defeats Broadbent in Greene

Former Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office Captain Tyler Hooks has defeated Captain Joseph Pritchett of the Morgan County’s Sheriff’s Office for the Republican nomination on the ticket in the General Election this November.

Hooks will face Democrat Derrick Reid, who ran unopposed in the primary. 

Hooks received 1,987 votes (53.14%) to Pritchett’s 1,726 votes (46.86%)

Mark Blanton has defeated Steve Broadbent in the runoff election for the District 4 seat on the Greene County Board of Commissioners by a little more than 80 votes.

Blanton received 741 votes (52.89%) while Broadbent tallied 660 votes (47.11%)
