Harbor Club is a gated lakefront community nestled along the shoreline of Lake Oconee in Greene County.
Originally developed late in the 1980s, the developers wanted to establish a close-knit community able to enjoy the benefits of the lake, a top-notch golf course, and a full range of recreational activities together. By 1990, the first households were established and ever since, Harbor Club has continued to add more homes and has flourished with full-time residents amid a strong sense of community.
“Harbor Club is 32 years old. Our neighborhood is predominantly full-time residents, which offers a full sense of community,” said Kathy Phillips, director of real estate sales. “Harbor Club also has a broad range of home price points from very affordable homes with prices starting from $300,000 to over $2 million. There is a home for virtually any buyer here.”
Harbor Club offers many amenities, including two restaurants, a clubhouse, a playground, a hiking trail, dog parks, pickleball, a marina with dry-stack boat storage, and a golf course. Its 18-hole Weiskopf-Morrish designed golf course was named “One of the Top Golf Course Communities Around the World” by Link Magazine and ranked fourth overall by GolfWeek in “Golf Courses You Can Play in Georgia.”
“Harbor Club has a 15,000-square-foot clubhouse that houses our restaurant and our pro shop. It’s a wonderful place for member-social opportunities,” said Phillips. “We also have a marina that offers dry-stack storage for boats and a seasonal restaurant there called the Boat House. In addition, there are many recreational sports including golf, tennis, pickleball, the pool, and so much more to participate in.”
Alongside amenities, Harbor Club offers resident and non-resident memberships that provide a wide range of benefits. These can include access to the modern fitness center with LifeFitness equipment and exercise classes, golf practice areas, discounts at the Harbor Club Marina, preferred reservation access at the restaurant and golf club, and more.
“We offer different levels of membership so that people may choose from based on their personal interests. The membership levels range from a social membership to a full golf membership,” said Phillips.
Phillips also pointed out Harbor Club is a perfect place for growing families. It is located near shopping centers and grocery stores, has quick access to the interstate and offers the opportunity for families to enroll their children in Lake Oconee Academy, one of the top charter schools in the county.
“The affordability and location of Harbor Club is the biggest factor for most residents who have moved here,” said Phillips. “It’s an all-encompassing community built with concern for residential life first and foremost.”
