A Greensboro man was killed in a traffic accident on East Broad Street (Highway 278) near Yearwood’s Auto Service on the night of March 19.
Devender Vaddi, 63, was pronounced dead upon the arrival of medical personnel.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, Vaddi was traveling westbound on a black moped/scooter when a silver Ford F-150 struck his scooter and threw him into the air over the truck. The truck was being driven by Alvin Alexander, 57, of Greensboro.
The moped/scooter became lodged under the truck and was dragged several feet underneath it. The investigation determined Alexander was impaired. He has been charged with vehicular homicide (1st degree), DUI, open container, and following too closely.
The Troop E Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) was also notified and responded to the accident.
