Police officers were dispatched to the Pilot Truck Stop on Eatonton Road in Madison April 15 regarding an unresponsive person in locked truck.
When officers arrived, emergency medical services personnel had broken a window in the truck to gain access to the interior.
They found a deceased man in the sleeper area of the truck.
The man was later identified as Anthony Hodges of Raleigh, North Carolina.
According to the Morgan County coroner’s office, the body of the man was sent to the state crime lab in Atlanta to determine the cause of death. As of this report, no further information is available regarding his death.
The trucking company said Hodges checked in from the Pilot Station the previous day and was not heard from again.
The company sent a driver to retrieve the truck and its contents.
