MORGAN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
Holley Broughton, 53, listed as homeless, was arrested May 18 and charged with criminal trespassing.
Christopher Kotlowski, 39, of Madison was arrested May 20 on arrest warrants out of Morgan County for aggravated assault and simple battery under the family violence statute.
Epifanio Candia-Morales, 28, of Athens was arrested May 19 and charged with DUI, expired license, possession of marijuana less than 1 ounce and littering from a motor vehicle.
A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to a Seven Islands Road address May 19 in reference to a burglary. The complainant said someone broke into her shed and stole a variety of tools, an air compressor and a welding machine valued at a total of approximately $3,000.
A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to a High Shoals Road address May 19 in reference to a theft. The complainant said a trailer containing a Can AM 1,000 cc side by side was stolen from his property during the night. The case is under investigation.
A Madison resident said he received a call from someone claiming to be with the Regions Bank Fraud Department on May 20. The complainant said he gave the caller his name, address, social security number and banking information and $854 was withdrawn from the complainant’s account.
Morgan County deputies made a traffic stop on Fambrough Bridge Road that resulted in six vehicles being impounded. According to reports, the deputies made contact with one adult and three juveniles riding dirt bikes and an ATV down the middle of the road. The adult said the three juveniles riding with him were his children, so he was cited for permitting an unauthorized person to drive, operation of an unregistered vehicle and no valid insurance coverage. Two more juveniles riding ATVs were later stopped for riding in the roadway. No charges were filed but the bikes and ATVs were impounded.
Morgan County deputies set up a security checkpoint at Davis Academy and Newborn roads May 21. Four warnings and one citation for expired registration were issued. Another safety checkpoint was set up on May 23 at Fairplay and Main Streets in Rutledge. One warning was issued.
MADISON POLICE DEPARTMENT
A Madison police officer was dispatched to Commerce Street May 8 in reference to the theft of several bicycles possibly taken by juveniles. Most of the bikes were located and returned to the owners. The incident has been turned over to the courts. A Madison police officer was dispatched
A Madison police officer was dispatched to the Super 8 Motel at 2092 Eatonton Road May 18 in reference to property damage. The complainant said a guest caused damage to items in a room.
A Madison police officer was dispatched to a Madison Avenue address in reference to a stolen his handgun May 16. The complainant said someone stole his Smith and Wesson semi-automatic 9mm pistol from the console of the Toyota sedan.
A Madison police officer was dispatched to a Bramblewood Drive address May 21 in reference to a a domestic dispute.
GREENE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
Willie Louis Bland Jr. 54, of Richmond, Virginia was arrested May 17 and charged with DUI, driving while license suspended, failure to maintain lane and open container.
Elijah Carter, 24, of Brooklyn, New York was arrested May 17 and charged with theft by receiving stolen property. Zion Bandele Roach, who was driving the stolen vehicle involved, was also arrested.
Thomas Cole Stephens, 31, of Forsyth was arrested May 19 on a parole violation warrant.
Levar Antwan Lawrence, 44, of Union Point was arrested May 20 and charged with criminal trespassing after a deputy found him on property of the BP station on Lamb Avenue harassing customers, according to reports. Lawrence had been banned from the BP station in December of 2021. He was also trespassed from the Short Stop gas station for five years as result of the same incident.
Gabriel Alexander Servi, 19, of Atlanta was arrested May 21 and charged with DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to maintain lane and driving without his license on his person.
Quentin Emerson Redd, 40, of Union Point was arrested May 21 and charged with DUI, failure to maintain lane and open container.
GREENSBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT
On Sunday, May 15, officers responded to the area of Hospitality Drive in reference to an unruly customer. The customer was not in the area at the time of the report. The incident was turned over to investigators.
On Sunday, May 15, during a traffic stop in the area of South Main Street, officers issued a notice of suspension to Diego Alejandro Balcells, 21, of Suwannee.
On Sunday, May 15, officers responded to the area of South Main Street in reference to a public indecency complaint. The offender was not in the area at the time of the report.
On Sunday, May 15, while patrolling the area of North Laurel Avenue, officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle that failed to obey a traffic control device. After further investigation, the driver, Heiber Funez-Esobed, 29, of Greensboro was arrested on charges of failure to stop at a stop sign and driving while unlicensed.
On Sunday, May 15, while patrolling the area of North East Street, officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle that failed to obey a traffic control device. After further investigation, the driver, Roger Geter, Jr., 31, of Greensboro was arrested and served a warrant out of Oglethorpe County.
On Monday, May 16, officers responded to the area of South Main Street in reference to a fraud complaint. The complainant stated that funds for a deceased customer were being spent out of the customer’s account. The incident was turned over to investigators.
On Monday, May 16, officers responded to the area of Morningside Drive in reference to a citizen’s complaint. The complainant stated that her boyfriend took a bracelet from her residence. The incident was turned over to investigators.
On Monday, May 16, officers responded to the area of North West Street in reference to a damage to property complaint. The complainant stated that a bullet hole was in one of the windows of the building. The incident was turned over to investigators.
On Tuesday, May 17, officers responded to GPD in reference to a forgery complaint. The complainant stated that two checks were forged in the amount of $684 per check. The incident was turned over to investigators.
On Tuesday, May 17, while patrolling the area of MLK Jr. Drive, officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in violation of a tag requirement. After further investigation, the driver, Benjamin Lewis McCommons, 51, of Union Point was issued citations for no insurance and no registration.
On Wednesday, May 18, officers responded to the area of South Main Street in reference to a criminal trespassing complaint. The complainant stated that an unknown male was seen on surveillance on the property. The complainant was advised that extra patrol would be conducted in the area.
On Wednesday, May 18, while patrolling the area of MLK Jr. Drive, officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle with the driver not wearing a seat belt. After further investigation, the driver, Kelvin Chaffin, 44, of Greensboro was issued citations for no insurance and no seat belt.
On Wednesday, May 18, officers responded to the area of MLK Jr. Drive in reference to an unwanted person at a residence. After further investigation, officers arrested Leleka Kaylesha Redd, 39, of White Plains on the charge of criminal trespassing.
On Thursday, May 19, while patrolling the area of West Broad Street, officers observed a vehicle in violation of a tag light requirement. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and after further investigation, the driver, Bobby Joe-Nathan Dawson, was issued a personal notice of suspension due to child support obligations.
On Thursday, May 19, officers responded to the area of Apalachee Avenue in reference to a vicious dog. The incident was turned over to animal control.
On Friday, May 20, officers responded to Good Samaritan Hospital in reference to a minor that had consumed an unknown amount of candy laced with THC. The incident was turned over to investigators.
