MORGAN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
Monae Taylor, 33, of Madison was arrested May 4 and charged with battery under the family violence statute.
A Morgan County deputy was sent to a Turner Road address regarding a stolen vehicle on May 4. The complainant said a 2014 Ram truck and a 2020 Apollo 125 dirt bike were missing from the property. Putnam County deputies located the truck at a Harmony Road address. The truck was towed to the PCSO and the owner met deputies there. The Apollo 125 (valued at $1,500) has not been recovered, but the case is still under investigation.
Yovanna Martinez, 29, of Madison was arrested May 4 and charged with driving without a valid license.
Michael Ryan Shaffer, 41, of Athens was arrested May 4 and charged with DUI and open container.
A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to a Cochran Road address May 5 in reference to a theft. The complainant said $1,300 had been stolen from a safe in the trunk of the car. The same complainant called again and said someone had stolen the car and $2,000 in cash. The car was located in Barrow County and arrangements were made to allow the complainant to retrieve the car.
Jeremiah Richard Erwin, 44, of Oxford was arrested May 6 and charged with aggravated assault, criminal trespassing and making terroristic threats and acts. Gernardo Montferance Cato, 24, of Charleston,
Gernardo Montferance Cato, 24, of Charleston, South Carolina, was arrested May 6 and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, speeding (98 mph in a 70-mph zone) and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Vidal Hamilton, who was a passenger in the car was also charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to a Williams Street address in Rutledge May 7 in reference to a stolen vehicle. The complainant said a 2004 Pontiac GTO was missing from his yard. He also said he had been approached by some men who asked if he was interested in selling the GTO and he told them he was not. The vehicle’s value was estimated at $9,800.
A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to the MCSO to meet with a man who represents Morgan Land, Sky and Water Preservation that is also known as No2Rivian. He said he received threatening emails that said “you scumbag boomers have done enough’’ and “you cannot die soon enough.” The complaint was documented and the email was determined to have come from a free disposable email service.
Crystal Dawn Wheeler, 43, of Winder was arrested May 9 on probation violation warrants out of Barrow and Walton County on the original charges of battery and possession of methamphetamine.
Frederick Bernard Grimes, 43, of Greensboro was arrested May 9 and charged with driving while license suspended.
Javier Noel Contreras Gonzalez, 34, of Kaufman, Texas was arrested May 10 and charged with speeding (91 mph in a 70-mph zone) and driving without a valid license.
Sabrina Katrina Love, 40, was arrested May 10 after a good behavior bond was revoked.
MADISON POLICE DEPARTMENT
A warrant has been obtained for Robert Deontrae Daniel, 27, of Grovetown on the charge of theft by shoplifting.
A Madison police officer was sent to the Love’s Truck Stop May 4 regarding a stolen firearm. The complainant said someone stole his Glock 9mm handgun.
Shante Lafahye Leola Henry, 22, of Greenville, South Carolina was arrested May 1 and charged with shoplifting.
Allison Alexis Brown-Purry, 23, of Greenville, South Carolina was arrested May 1 and charged with shoplifting.
A Madison police officer was sent to the Pilot Truck Stop on Eatonton Road May 3 regarding an accusation that a man touched another man inappropriately in the bathroom. A Black male told the officer that a white male touched him inappropriately and made a lewd sexual remark. A law enforcement officer who happened to be on the scene intervened before the two men got into a fight. A pre-warrant hearing has been advised.
Amber Moesha Carter, 23, of Stockbridge was arrested May 3 and charged with DUI.
A warrant has been obtained for David Earl Jones, 39, of Athens on the charge of public indecency.
Edgar Eduardo Vallejo Gonzalez, 32, of Denton, Texas was arrested May 4 and charged with obstruction, driving without a license an failure to obey a traffic control device. Tevin Jonpierre Bass, 18, of Conyers was arrested
Tevin Jonpierre Bass, 18, of Conyers was arrested April 21 and charged with speeding (114 mph in a 70-mph zone) and driving without a license.
A Madison police officer was dispatched to the Waffle House located at 1941 Eatonton Road in reference to a theft. A customer at the restaurant said she believed three males who had already left stole her iPhone 11 which was in a case with her social security card. Video surveillance footage showed a white male sliding the phone between his arms and turning it off.
A Madison police officer was dispatched to the Days Inn on Eatonton Road May 7 in reference to a theft. The complainant said his 9mm pistol had been stolen from his vehicle.
Michael Lee Gore, 40, of Covington was arrested May 2 and charged with criminal trespassing.
A warrant charging Robert Lee Rodriguez, 33, of Newborn with criminal trespassing has been issued in connection with the same incident.
GREENSBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT
On Sunday, May 1, officers responded to the area of Rachel Street in reference to a damage to property complaint. The complainant stated that she woke up and saw her car damaged in the parking lot.
On Sunday ,May 1, officers responded to the area of MLK Jr. Drive in reference to a citizen’s complaint. The complainant stated that he got into an argument with a manager at Burger King who went to his car, pulled out a gun and waved it in his direction. The incident was turned over to investigations.
On Sunday, May 1, while patrolling the area of North Laurel Avenue, officers observed a vehicle that did not stop at a stop sign. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle on Mill Street. After further investigation, the driver, Sherman Lewis Johnson, 25, of Athens was arrested on charge of failing to stop at a stop sign, no proof of insurance and driving while license suspended.
On Sunday, May 1, while patrolling the area of East Broad Street, officers observed a vehicle in which the passenger had an active warrant for arrest. Officers initiated a traffic stop, and Julie Anne Vandiver, 47, of Greensboro was arrested and served her warrant out of Greene County.
On Monday, May 2, officers responded to the area of Grimes Street in reference to a simple battery complaint. The complainant stated that her supervisor hit her in the chest and shoulder when she attempted to leave work. The incident was turned over to investigators.
On Monday, May 2, officers responded to the area of Meadowcrest Road in reference to a theft/mislaid property. The complainant stated that her wallet was stolen out of the buggy while shopping for flowers. The wallet was later recovered by an employee, but the money was missing out of the wallet.
On Monday, May 2, Officers responded to the area of East Broad Street in reference to a suspicious person. Officers made contact with individual and advised him to leave the area.
On Monday, May 2, officers responded to the area of East Broad Street in reference to a male being rude to employees and customers. Officers made contact with Ludwick Mitchell Jr., 59, of Greensboro, and a criminal trespassing warning was confirmed for Mitchell. Mitchell was arrested on the charge of criminal trespassing.
On Tuesday, May 3, while assisting another agency in the area of West 4th Street, officers arrested Justin Staten, 35, of Greensboro on an active warrant out of Mississippi.
On Wednesday, May 4, officers responded to the area of MLK Jr. Drive in reference to a theft by taking. The complainant stated that a male was walking in her yard and stole a catalytic converter off of a vehicle. The incident was turned over to investigators.
On Wednesday, May 4, while patrolling the area of North East Street, officers observed a vehicle speed through a four-way stop sign without stopping. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle in the parking lot of Bank South and subsequently arrested, Hillman Lee Ash, 57, of Union Point on the charge of DUI.
On Thursday, May 5, officers responded to the area of Memorial Drive in reference to a criminal damage to property complaint. The complainant stated that a tractor trailer was damaged with explicit writing and cut seats inside of the truck. The incident was turned over to investigators.
On Thursday, May 5, officers responded to the area of Chapel Street in reference to a verbal dispute. Officers advised both parties to separate for the night. The complainant also wanted to report a hole in his wall that was not previously there. There was no further incident.
On Thursday, May 5, officers issued a criminal trespassing warning to Tobias Jackson, 21, of Greensboro for the property of Ingles located at 1480 East Broad Street.
On Friday, May 6, officers responded to the area of North West Street in reference to a criminal trespassing complaint. The complainant stated that she came outside to find an individual asleep in her vehicle. Officers made contact with Jeremy Jerome Carroll, 40, of Watkinsville who was arrested on charges of criminal trespassing and public drunkenness.
On Friday, May 6, officers responded to the area of Twin Pines Drive in reference to a criminal trespassing complaint. The complainant stated that four individuals were on the property busting items. The incident was turned over to investigators.
On Saturday, May 7, officers responded to the area of West Broad Street in reference to a theft by taking. The complainant stated that when she pressed the gas in her vehicle, she noticed a loud noise. Further investigation revealed that the exhaust system was cut, wires were hanging from the vehicle and the catalytic converter was removed. The incident was turned over to investigators.
On Saturday, May 7, officers responded to the area of Chapel Street in reference to an unsecured door. Officers checked the residence and found that the door frame was damaged. The incident was turned over to investigators.
On Saturday, May 7, officers responded to the area of MLK Jr. Drive in reference to a verbal dispute. After further investigation, officers issued a criminal trespassing warning to Rashandra Porter, 28, of Union Point for the property of 1524 MLK Jr. Drive.
For the week of May 7, the Greensboro Police Department responded to three accidents, and 23 citations were issued.
