MORGAN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
A Morgan County deputy responding to a call about two suspicious persons walking down Newborn Road found two juveniles carrying backpacks and food. The MCSO was able to determine they were runaway juveniles from Newton County. They were taken into custody and turned over to Newton County deputies.
Timothy Sylvester Greene, 58, of Timmonsville, South Carolina, was arrested April 13 and charged with driving while license suspended and speeding (89 mph in a 70-mph zone).
Johnathan Cameron Voyles, 17, of Buckhead was arrested April 15 and charged with DUI, reckless driving, violation of a brake light requirements, failure to report striking a fixed object with a motor vehicle, laying drags and underage possession of alcohol.
Deputies responded to a pair of burglary complaints during the week of April 13- 19. Both are under investigation.
Robert Reeves, 62, of Atlanta was arrested April 17 and charged with DUI, speeding (77 mph in a 45-mph zone) and open container.
Laura Ann Hamby, 32, of St. Petersburg, Florida, was arrested April 18 and charged with DUI (drugs) and failure to maintain lane.
MADISON POLICE
Quentin Darrell Hardge, 27, of Madison was arrested April 13 and charged with criminal trespassing and aggravated stalking.
Madison police officers were dispatched to the Farmers Furniture store on Eatonton Road regarding a damage to property complaint on April 4. Employees said an unknown person drove a vehicle behind the building and tried to drag an air conditioning unit off the wall, causing damage to the rear of the building. Nothing was reported stolen. Video surveillance footage is being reviewed. Fingerprints were also obtained from tools left at the scene.
GREENE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
Almeta Carissa Ash, 45 of Greensboro was arrested April 18 and charged with obstruction of officers when engaged in official duty that results in serious physical harm or injury to an officer, terroristic threats and acts and criminal damage to property.
Jaidonn Eric James, 31, of (no address listed) was arrested April 18 and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and theft by receiving stolen property.
Courtney Mathew Julien, 50, of Norcross was arrested April 14 and charged with DUI.
Michael James Conway, 26, of Ormond Beach, Florida, was arrested April 14 and charged with DUI.
Derrick Bernard Mapp, 45, of Greensboro was arrested April 16 and charged with battery, criminal damage to property and terroristic threats and acts.
GREENSBORO POLICE
On Sunday, April 10, officers responded to the area of MLK Jr. Drive in reference to a damage to property damage complaint. The complainant stated that her car was damaged by a gate when pulling into the parking lot of the Boys and Girls Club.
On Monday, April 11, officers responded to the area of Brighton Road in reference to an unwanted guest at a home. After further investigation, the guest, Brittany Nicole Poole, 50, of Greensboro was found to have an active warrant for arrest. Poole was arrested and transported to the Greene County LEC where she was booked and served her warrant for probation violation.
On Tuesday, April 12, officers responded to the area of North West Street in reference to a simple battery complaint. The complainant stated that an individual slapped her 15-year-old son. The son and his brother refused to give officers any information at the time of the report.
On Tuesday, April 12, officers responded to the area of Oconee Avenue in reference to a domestic dispute. Both parties were separated.
On Tuesday, April 12, officers responded to the area of Old Eatonton Road in reference to a damage to property complaint. The complainant stated that he backed his truck into a dumpster on the property of AutoZone. The complainant stated that he would pay for damages and the clerk stated that she would need a report to send to their corporate office.
On Tuesday April 12, officers responded to the area of Morningside Drive in reference to a verbal dispute. The complainant stated that he allowed his stepson to live in his residence because he was homeless. The complainant stated that he had advised him to get a job, so he could get on his feet, or he would have to get out. The complainant was advised of the eviction process. After further investigation, the complainant, Kyle Leborn Peaks, 52, of Greensboro was found to have an active warrant for arrest. Peak was arrested and transported to the Greene County LEC where he was booked and served his warrant out of Greene County.
On Wednesday, April 13, while patrolling the area of North East Street, officers observed a vehicle in the intersection of East Broad Street with the driver not wearing a seatbelt. After further investigation, the driver, Demarco Laderious Wright, 19, of Greensboro was cited for a seatbelt violation and possession of marijuana (less than an ounce) violation.
On Wednesday, April 13, officers responded to the area of East Broad Street in reference to a civil matter. The complainant stated that a tire was placed on her car at Pronto tire and the new tire was wobbling and making a loud noise. The employee stated that she needed to see a mechanic. The complainant was advised that she would need to handle the matter in magistrate court.
On Thursday, April 14, while patrolling the area of Lake Oconee Parkway, officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing the driver fail to maintain lane multiple times. After further investigation, the driver, Jesus Galvan Jaramillo, 41, of Greensboro was arrested on charges of failure to maintain lane and driving without license.
On Thursday, April 14, officers met with an individual at GPD in reference to a prowling complaint. The complainant stated that she received a notification on her camera of an individual attempting to enter her residence. The incident was turned over to investigations.
On Friday, April 15, officers responded to the area of Rachel Street in reference to a citizen’s complaint. The complainant stated that she felt harassed by the property manager because she received a lease violation about trash that blew onto her apartment lawn.
On Friday, April 15, officers responded to the area of Willow Run Road in reference to a civil matter. The complainant stated that a driver is holding equipment due to nonpayment from Glassline Inc. The complainant stated that the matter would need to be handled in magistrate court.
On Friday, April 15, officers responded to the area of South Walnut Street in reference to a neighborhood complaint of loud music. The complainant stated that loud music was playing from somewhere. Officers were not able to find the source of the music at the time of the report. The complainant was advised that extra patrol would be done in the area.
On Saturday, April 16, while assisting with a traffic stop in the area of South Main Street, officers observed a vehicle passing in a no passing zone. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle near Stewart Parkway and after further investigation, the driver, Miguel Angel Santos, 19, of Springfield, Massachusetts, was arrested and transported to the Greene County LEC where he was booked on charges of passing in a no passing zone, driving while license suspended and driving while registration is suspended.
On Saturday, April 16, officers responded to Citgo on East Broad Street in reference to a civil matter. The complainant stated that he swiped his card for gas for $18.01 but his card was charged $58.75, and the clerk refused to refund the difference. The complainant was advised that some stores place a hold on gas purchases when using a debit or credit card, and the difference would return to the card in a day or so. The complainant stated that he understood and there was no further incident.
For the week of April 10-16, the Greensboro Police Department responded to three accidents and 42 citations were issued.
