One victim is dead, and another is hospitalized in intensive care after a shooting on Madison’s Morgan Circle on the evening of March 8.
According to Madison’s Assistant Police Chief Colin Campbell, officers were dispatched to the Morgan Circle address at approximately 7:50 p.m.
One of the shooting victims, 17-year-old Kingsley Gibbs, was later pronounced dead at the Morgan Medical Center after being transported there in a private vehicle. Imunn Sandford, also 17, was transported to Piedmont Athens hospital in an ambulance for treatment.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has joined the Madison Police Department to probe the circumstances involved in the shooting.
Campbell said detectives were up most of the night working the case and returned to their investigation after a couple of hours of sleep on the morning of March 9.
Campbell said detectives are pursuing a number of promising leads.
More information on the case should be released over the next few days, Campbell said, as the investigation continues.
