An “Evening with Art” drew more than 300 attendees to the third-annual fundraising event to Greensboro for the Boys and Girls Club of North Central Georgia.
The event has become a showcase of unique art in various mediums and brings in people across the south to enjoy art, and community and support the local Boys and Girls Club.
Held at Greensboro’s Bend the Trend store and venue in Greensboro, the event helps support the Pete Nance Boys and Girls Club in Greensboro at 1471 Martin Luther King Blvd. The new facility opened in 2021 and has since become the area’s largest nonprofit organization in Greensboro. The national organization aims to encourage personal growth, opportunity, leadership, inspiration and education for children and young teens. The Pete Nance Boys and Girls Club in Greensboro features new learning labs, recreational opportunities, after-school programs and more for area youth. The club director is Stacy McClendon.
The popular event featured original artwork from the South’s leading contemporary artists.
Many artists were present to mingle with attendees and answer questions about select pieces. Many featured landscapes of Lake Oconee and the surrounding area. The pieces were featured in several viewing rooms at the facility alongside other pieces for purchase.
“We want to give a big thank you to all of our sponsors and attendees for a wonderful event last Saturday,” said Kimberly Cambias, board chair for the Pete Nance Boys and Girls Club. “The event helped raise funds to support the club’s ongoing efforts in our community.”
Key sponsors included Wells Fargo, Greensboro Tires, Lake Country Medical Concierge, Black Sheep Interiors, Russell W. Wall attorney, a2b Fulfillment and several large private donors and realty groups in Lake Country.
McClendon thanked attendees for the ongoing support of the club.
“This continues to be a unique occasion for the area by bringing in many to support our ongoing efforts at the club,” he said. “It shows the generosity, excitement and enthusiasm to support the club and create such a great experience for all.”
