Titans weather delay, roll to season-opening win

By the time Lake Oconee Academy finally took the field last Friday night, the Titans had already spent nearly two hours waiting out Mother Nature.Thunderstorms pushed kickoff against Mount Pisgah back until 9 p.m., testing LOA’s patience before it could officially begin the 2026 season.

Tigers look to bounce back against Wilkinson County

Greene County will look to put its season-opening loss behind it Friday night when it hosts Wilkinson County.In their Aug. 21 rivalry matchup against Putnam County, the Tigers struggled offensively, finishing with only 76 total yards in a 21-0 shutout defeat.

Morgan County wasted little time making a statement in its 2026 season opener.The Bulldogs (1-0) defeated Madison County 28-13 on Aug. 21 at home, using a balanced offense and a strong defense to build an early lead and withstand a second-half push from the Red Raiders.
