Sweet Tooth Festival draws large crowd, entertains in Madison

On a generally rainy weekend, the skies cleared over the Lion’s Club of Madison on March 25, long enough for the third Sweet Tooth Festival to take place. The first was held in 2018 and this year marked the festival’s return following its interruption by the COVID pandemic.

Mike Farris, who won the 2014 Grammy Award for Best Roots Gospel Album (“Shine for All the People”), will be performing on March 31, at Oconee Brewing Company (OBC) in downtown Greensboro. All proceeds from the special, one-night-only event will benefit the arts program at Lake Oconee Academy (LOA).

Greene County 4-H celebrates our six 4-Hers who participated in the Northeast Junior/Senior District Project Achievement (DPA) competition held at Rock Eagle 4-H Center March 10-12. There were 374 competitors representing each county in the Northeast District.

Through the Georgia Rural Healthcare Organization Tax Credit Program, better known as HEART: Helping Enhance Access to Rural Treatment, Exchange Bank recently provided Putnam General Hospital with a $25,000 check to help offset losses incurred by poverty-stricken patients.
