Rotary Club Honors February 2024 Students of the Month

The Rotary Club of Greene and Putnam Counties is pleased to announce the following Students-of-the-Month for February 2024: Hillary Haley (Gatewood), Chris Lowe (Greene County High School), Sydney Pattison (LOA), Katelyn Jones (NGA), and Claudia Franklin (Putnam County High School).

MMCC to officially open John Lewis series Sunday

The Madison-Morgan Cultural Center (MMCC) will hold a formal opening of the John Lewis Series at 2 p.m. this Sunday (Feb. 18), featuring a powerful exhibit by Morgan County native Benny Andrews, who died in November 2006.

The 2024 Spring Tour of Homes and Gardens presented by the Madison- Morgan Cultural Center (MMCC) is scheduled for April 19-20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

‘Seuss on the Loose’ coming soon to PCPS

The 10th annual Seuss on the Loose Celebration and Fun Run is coming up March 2nd at Putnam County Primary School (PCPS, 162 Old Glenwood Springs Rd., Eatonton), sponsored by Ferst Readers of Putnam County. If your family hasn’t pre-registered for the Fun Run, time is running short.

Georgia Writers Museum to host ‘lie detector’ expert

History is filled with countless criminal and civil cases solved through the use of a polygraph, commonly known as a “lie detector.” Georgia Writers Museum (GWM) has announced that one of the world’s leading polygraphists, Lisa Ribacoff, will be its Crime & Wine: Valentine Edition presenter on Feb.

Local Rotary Club hosts Shoes 4 Kids

On Feb. 3, the Rotary Club took 71 students from Greene and Putnam Counties on a trip to Shoe Carnival in Augusta, where they had the opportunity to select a brand-new pair of school shoes, a backpack, and a pair of socks.
