Lake Oconee Academy hosted an eclipse watch party for its students and their parents Monday at Tucker Field featuring refreshments and – of course – a partial solar eclipse last week.

The new Classic Center Arena, owned by Athens-Clarke County and currently being built on the University of Georgia campus, will set a new standard for local sports and performance venues once it’s completed in early October.

Elle Copelan traveled to Perry from Feb. 21-23 to participate in the state 4-H and FFA heifer show. Leading up to the state competition, Ellie and her family invested a lot of time and hard work in feeding, grooming and training her calf, Peaches for the state show.
