Writers Museum exhibits at Black Writers Weekend

Georgia Writers Museum participated in Black Writers Weekend, a conference held Aug. 1-3 in Austell that brought hundreds of writers from all over the U.S.

Greensboro residents fight to cure cancer

STMA presents ‘Queer Perspectives’ exhibition

In recognition of the vital importance of increased visibility and diverse representation of LGBTQ+ communities and issues, particularly in rural areas, Steffen Thomas Museum of Art is presenting “Queer Perspectives,” a juried exhibition opening Aug. 10 and closing Jan.

‘Big River’ big success at Festival Hall

Sweeping audiences down the mighty Mississippi, “Big River, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” came to a successful close last Sunday at Festival Hall with all interpretations sold out.

Lake Oconee News welcomes new associate editor

Lake Oconee News recently welcomed Hannah Barron as its new associate editor based at the LON offices in Greensboro and Madison.In 2021, Barron graduated from the University of Georgia’s entertainment and media studies program.

‘Working’ gets the job done at The Plaza

This year’s Broadway Intensive program at The Plaza Arts Center closed Sunday afternoon with the final presentation of “Working: A Musical.” The final performance drew the largest crowd in an eight-show run over the past two weekends.

Sculpture trail to lead the way for Eatonton

Public art will soon pop up all over Eatonton as the new sculpture trail backed by The Artisans Village, and the Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce is almost ready for installation.The first piece is already in place.

New owner of Two Rivers Nutrition cuts ribbon

The Greene County Chamber of Commerce recognized two Rivers Nutrition of Eatonton with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 11. The health and nutrition beverage shop is located at 109 Harmony Crossing and has been under new ownership since April.
