Tri-County Foundation supports Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Neighbors Helping Neighbors (NHN) recently announced the receipt of a $15,000 grant from the Tri-County EMC (T-CEMC) Foundation through its Operation Roundup program.

This marks the fourth year NHN has been awarded funds from the T-CEMC Foundation in support of its mission to meet urgent, everyday needs in the community.

The grant will help NHN continue its work in Putnam County, providing essential services such as critical home repairs, vehicle repairs and replacements, and beds for children without one.

“We’re deeply grateful to Tri-County EMC and its members for their continued investment in our neighbors,” NHN Executive Director Allyn Rippin said. “They are an incredible partner in helping us respond quickly and effectively to families in need right here in Putnam County.”

The award comes through Operation Roundup, a community grant program funded by voluntary contributions from T-CEMC members to the Tri-County EMC Foundation. Members round up their electric bills to the nearest dollar, and those small donations are combined to support nonprofit initiatives across an eight-county service area, including Putnam, Baldwin, Morgan, Jones, Twiggs, Wilkinson, Bibb, and Jasper counties.

Grants are awarded quarterly and reviewed by a nine-member volunteer board. Funding categories include Basic Needs, Medical Needs, Youth/ Scholarships, and General Giving. Nonprofits can apply online at www.tri-countyemc.com.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors relies on local support to carry out its mission. To become a donor or annual member, or learn more about how to get involved, contact Rippin at execdir@nhnga.org or visit nhnga.org.
