The Oconee Performing Arts Society (OPAS) Community Youth Chorus performed on Dec. 3 at Festival Hall in Greensboro, underscoring the shared commitment of OPAS with its surrounding community to nurturing the next generation of artists.

The OPAS Youth Chorus Concert, led by chorus conductors Amanda Stover and Cathy Williamson with accompanist Amy Reber, delivered an enchanting concert filled with holiday choral music.

Special mention also goes to standout performances by OPAS Lesson Bank students Kyler Fryer on trumpet and Marielle Peguero, whose pitch-perfect duet with her teacher, Mrs. Stover, was described as angelic. The atmosphere created by all of these talented, young Putnam and Greene County artists provided a memorable afternoon for everyone in attendance.

From vocal solos to instrumental performances, the diverse talent showcase even included a touch of Christmas beatboxing, making it an unforgettable experience.

The concert served as a powerful reminder of the essence of the OPAS mission which depends on ongoing support to ensure the continued success of programs like the OPAS Community Youth Chorus and the OPAS Lesson Bank.

OPAS extends heartfelt holiday gratitude to its supporters for being an integral part of our mission to keep the arts alive and vibrant in Lake Country as it looks forward to sharing more inspiring performances in the future.
