MORGAN COUNTY
Main Street Madison hosted its “Spooktacular Costume Parade” in the town park on Oct. 31.
The free event included multiple stations and activities for visitors, including a costume contest, candy stops for Trick-or-Treaters, and free hot dogs.
The costume contest was open to children 13 and under and their furry friends. The prizes were awarded in six costume categories, including Cutest Kid, Spookiest Kid, Super Natural Costume, Ghoulish Group, Best Furry Friend, and Pet-Human Pair.
The town park was packed with participants dressed in various costumes, ranging from farm animals to cartoon characters and ghosts. Attendees circled the town park courtyard to visit candy stops hosted by many local businesses and representatives.
Local leaders, including Madison Mayor Fred Perriman and Morgan County Sheriff Tyler Hooks, attended the event and distributed candy to children participating in the contest.
Businesses and nonprofit organizations, including Madison Artists Guild Gallery, First Franklin Financial, MC Head Start, and Ricardo’s Kouzzina, were among the participating companies in the candy stops. Chick-fil-A Madison also made an appearance at the event, bringing its beloved cow mascot to the park for children to take pictures with.
