Madison-Morgan Conservancy Derby Day set May 6

The Madison City Council approved a special event beer, wine and liquor pouring license at its April 10 meeting that paves the way for the Madison-Morgan Conservancy’s Derby Day celebration to be held at the Foster-Thomason-Minnix House on South Main Street May 6 from 5-10 p.m.

According to the MMC website, “Derby Day is the Conservancy’s only fundraiser of the year and supports the protection of farms, forests, and front porches for future generations. Join us at Derby Day to support the cause.”

The event will begin with a “Big Reveal Tour” of the house known at the Masterpiece on Main and a Run for the Roses Raffle until 6:15 p.m.

The Derby will begin at 6:24 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:45 p.m. and a live auction at 7:15 p.m. At 8 p.m., the Atlanta Seventeen big band and dancing.
