Last Thursday night, the East Georgia Concert Chorale performed “Hearts and Minds United in Song,” a free, one-hour program to benefit Our Father’s Kitchen at First Presbyterian Church of Greensboro.
A standing-room-only crowd enjoyed a magical evening of stunning music and song.
Music for the Soul opened with “Gloria” by Franz Joseph Haydn, followed by “If Music Be the Food of Love” by David C. Dickau, “Flower of Beauty,” a Black spiritual song, “Little Innocent Lamb,” “The Word Was God,” “Flight Song,” “What is a Heart?” and Brahms’ “The May Night,” among others.
The East Georgia Concert Chorale (eastgeorgiaconcertchorale@gmail.com) was founded in September 2023 under the direction of Dr. Brian Williams and his wife, Jana, a pianist, harpist, and singer.
The chorale now includes sopranos Rusty Fault, Karinne Fish, Margie Heimer, Rosie Herrmann, Liz Jackson, Charlotte Mosteller and Donna Valvo; altos Carol Gracco, Carol Grant, Linda Hammett, Jenny Moore, Katie Price, Suzanne Vest, and Sandy Williamson; tenors Bruce Angier, Tom Bantly, and Joe Williamson; and basses Frank Cassara, Lewis Hammett, Dave Heimer, Drace Langford, and Norris McElroy.
Donations to Our Father’s Kitchen (ourfatherskitchenga.com) totaled $4,229, to go toward serving and feeding the Greene County community in need.
