G-P employees help NHN build and deliver kids’ beds

GREENE COUNTY

Employees from Georgia-Pacific’s Madison Plywood facility recently joined Greensboro-based Neighbors Helping Neighbors to make a local impact, building and delivering beds to children in need across Greene and Putnam counties.

Twelve Georgia-Pacific employees volunteered alongside NHN’s Beds for Kidz team during a “Build Day,” assembling beds and delivering them directly to recipients. The effort supported NHN’s mission to restore hope, stability, and dignity for neighbors in need through critical home repairs, reliable transportation, and beds for children who do not have one of their own.

“We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of Georgia-Pacific and the employees who gave their time and energy to serve our local families,” NHN Executive Director Allyn Rippin said. “A bed may seem simple, but for a child, it can make a significant difference by giving them a place of their own to sleep, often for the first time.”

The NHN Build Day highlighted the power of partnership and community engagement, as volunteers worked side by side to construct beds and provide comfort, stability, and dignity for local children.

“Our employees take pride in giving back to the communities where we live and work,” Georgia-Pacific Madison Plywood mill manager Wesley Stone said. “Partnering with Neighbors Helping Neighbors allows us to directly support families in Greene and Putnam counties and make a tangible difference.”

NHN highlighted the collaboration with Georgia-Pacific employees across its social media channels, showcasing its hands-on impact and positive outcomes for recipients. The organization continues to partner with local businesses and volunteers to serve more families throughout Greene and Putnam counties.
