More info: New to kayaking or thinking about getting into the sport? Oconee Outfitters has put together a course to teach you basic kayaking principles and practices. They’ll explore topics like transportation, entering/exiting the water, basic paddle strokes, and introduce techniques for rescue, both assisted and solo. The course should take approximately three hours and at the end you’ll have enough knowledge to feel comfortable getting on the water on your own. The price for the course is $75. If you purchase a kayak from Oconee Outfitters within 90 days before taking the class, the price is $50. (If you take the course first, a $25 discount may also be applied to the price of a new kayak for 90 days following the course.) Training will take place on Lake Sinclair.
