The presenter will be Katy Ross of Night Song Native Plant Nursery, Canton, and the topic is: “Medicinal Plants From The Past.” There will be a native plant sale as well as an herb expert, Marsha Herren, who will be on site to answer questions about growing herbs. What: A Naturalist’s View in Watercolors exhibit

More Info: A one-woman show of works by well-known watercolorist and teacher Leigh Ellis, who is a naturalist educated in zoology and ecology, with a Masters in Science in Biology, and who studied painting and design at the University of Hawaii and Montana State University and participated in Smithsonian Institute workshops. The exhibition may be viewed in the gallery or via the gallery’s online shop at www. themadisonartistsguild.org/shop. All works are for sale.

More Info: David Drake was an enslaved Black potter in South Carolina who produced stoneware jugs inscribed with original poetry in a time when this knowledge was a punishable offense. A second gallery installation features ceramic work by contemporary artist Zipporah Camille Thompson of Atlanta. Her work fuses old and new, referencing ancient cultures and millennial predilections.

This camp will expose young children to fun and games.
