More info: Go to Ferst Readers of Putnam County Facebook page to see videos of 10 members of our community, dressed in costume, presenting a favorite childhood book and vote for your favorite. You can vote as many times as you like. Proceeds are used to buy books for county children from birth to age 5. All Putnam County children are eligible to sign up for these free monthly books.

More Info: The Georgia Writers Museum’s Meet the Author event moves to a different location to present author Kristine Anderson and her book “Crooked Truth.” The story of “Crooked Truth” centers around a young boy who becomes the caretaker of his uncle, who must be sent to the state asylum. More Info: David Drake was an enslaved Black potter in South Carolina who produced stoneware jugs inscribed with original poetry in a time when this knowledge was a punishable offense. A second gallery installation features ceramic work by contemporary artist Zipporah Camille Thompson of Atlanta. Her work fuses old and new, referencing ancient cultures and millennial predilections.
