Titan baseball players earn All-Region honors

The Lake Oconee Academy (LOA) baseball team had one of its most successful seasons in 2023. The Titans won a program-record 18 games and advanced to the second round of the state playoffs for the first time.

Wildcats sweep Titans in Sweet 16

ELLAVILLE – Lake Oconee Academy’s baseball season came to an end last week at Schley County. The Wildcats swept the Titans on Thursday, advancing to the next round of the Class A Division II playoffs. Schley County took game one by a score of 6-0 over Lake Oconee Academy.

Titans sweep Christian Heritage, make program history to advance

Lake Oconee Academy baseball made history last week with two huge wins over Christian Heritage. The Titans bested the Lions 6-5 and 3-2, advancing to the next round of the Class A Division II playoffs.

Diamond Titans hit slump, drop five straight

Lake Oconee Academy baseball has lost five straight games entering this week, its longest streak of the season.

Towns County sweeps Titans in crucial region series

In a pivotal region series, Towns County easily swept Lake Oconee Academy last week. The Indians outscored the Titans 17-3 in the three-game stanza, which began last Tuesday.

Titans sweep Aquinas, now set to face Washington-Wilkes for top spot in region

Lake Oconee Academy defeated Aquinas 14-6 and 6-4 last week in the first two games of the series. The Titans were beating the Fightin’ Irish 6-5 during game three, although it was called due to darkness. The contest is set to be finished in a makeup game sometime next month.

Titans begin region play, continue to roll

The Lake Oconee Academy baseball team is currently 10-2 overall and 3-1 in Region 8 Class A Division II competition entering Thursday’s doubleheader against Aquinas in Augusta.

When Mark Miller was hired as Lake Oconee Academy’s new head baseball coach last summer, he pictured building a new culture around the program in his first year at the helm.

Titans take to the diamond for opening day

The Lake Oconee Academy baseball program is in its seventh season and traveled to the Academy for Classical Education (ACE) for its season opener this past Monday.
