Ellison named head coach of Lady Tigers

Shakedra Ellison has been named the new head coach of the Greene County girls’ basketball program.She takes over from previous coach Steven Hopper as she steps into her first high school head coaching opportunity.

Greene boys, girls earn All-Region honors

Greene County’s basketball teams recently wrapped up their 2025–26 seasons, with six standout players earning All-Region recognition.Three players from each program were honored, highlighting strong individual performances despite challenging campaigns.

Lady Tigers fall in the first round of region tourney

The Greene County girls basketball season came to a close under tough circumstances, but for head coach Steven Hopper, the bigger picture showed signs of real progress for a program built almost entirely on youth.

Lady Tigers get first W of season on Senior Night

The Greene County girls basketball team picked up its first win of the season on Feb. 3, edging Wilkinson County 53-51 at home.With the victory, the Lady Tigers are now 1-16 overall and will close the regular season on Feb. 6 with a road game at Lake Oconee Academy.

Lady Tigers experience growing pains
