Brown, Thompson find home at Thomas University

Morgan County basketball’s Jaturi Brown and TJ Thomspon recently decided where to attend college. The two recently-graduated Bulldogs committed to Thomas University on Monday and signed their letters of intent to play basketball for the Nighthawks during a ceremony held two days later.

BASKETBALL: Bulldogs get first region win

After dropping its first two region games to the Academy of Richmond County and Salem, the Morgan County boys’ basketball team defeated Hephzibah 54-52 last Friday. The Bulldogs lost to the Musketeers by five points on Jan.

BASKETBALL: 'Dogs grind out W over Cedar Shoals

ATHENS – Cody Anderson’s first win as the Morgan County boys’ basketball coach was exciting. The Bulldogs pulled out a 64-52 double-overtime victory over Cedar Shoals on Saturday night in front of a packed gymnasium. Anderson was proud of how his team fought against a tough Cedar Shoals squad.

FOOTBALL: Dogs’ historic season ends in first round

All good things must come to an end and that’s what recently happened for Morgan County’s football team. The Bulldogs’ historic season ended in the first round of the GHSA Class AAA playoffs. No. 3-seed Liberty County defeated No. 2-seed Morgan County 19-14 at Bill Corry Stadium on Saturday.

FOOTBALL: Fuller, Thompson help Bulldogs crush Cross Creek

Morgan County’s offensive tandem of quarterback Talan Fuller and wide receiver TJ Thompson hooked up four times in a 49-6 victory against Cross Creek on Friday night. Fuller completed 11-of-13 passes for 265 yards, a season-high four TDs and one INT.

FOOTBALL: MCHS Bulldogs air it out at 7-on-7 camp

Danielsville, Ga. — The Morgan County football team visited Madison County for a camp last week. The Bulldogs wrapped up the month of June by going head-to-head against the Red Raiders in 7-on-7 competition.
