Four MCHS football players sign to play at next level

Morgan County football had four seniors sign letters of intent on National Signing Day to play at the next level.

Morgan County football racks up All-Region honors

After a successful 2023 season, the Morgan County football team earned many postseason honors. The Bulldogs went 10-2 with a second-round playoff appearance and won the Region 4-AAA championship, so it’s safe to say they earned all of these recognitions after their best season in 10 years.

‘Dogs rout Social Circle in season opener

Morgan County football opened up its season with a dominant win over Social Circle this past Friday.The Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead and never let the Redskins even come close, convincingly winning 41-7.

‘Dogs have unfinished business to attend to

Morgan County football heads into year three under Clint Jenkins with some unfinished business in mind. The Bulldogs made positive strides in 2022 as they vastly improved, especially after winning seven games compared to four in 2021 during Jenkins’ first year.

‘Dogs show fight in scrimmage against Bears

The outcome of last Thursday’s scrimmage didn’t count toward Morgan County’s record, but head coach Clint Jenkins liked the fight his Bulldogs put up against a tough Cherokee Bluff squad. The contest unofficially ended in a 14-14 tie after the Bears scored a late touchdown in garbage time.

Bulldogs play solid spring game, rout Walnut Grove

Morgan County ended its spring camp on a positive note this past Friday with a win over Walnut Grove. The Bulldogs absolutely dominated the Class AAAA Warriors of Walton County with a 34-7 victory. “Overall, it was a really good spring. I thought our energy was good all camp long.

Morgan falls to Blue Devils in game three

The series between Morgan County and Columbus in the second round of the Class AAA state playoffs came down a game three, which is where the Blue Devils came away with a big 6-4 win.

FOOTBALL: Fuller, Thompson help Bulldogs crush Cross Creek

Morgan County’s offensive tandem of quarterback Talan Fuller and wide receiver TJ Thompson hooked up four times in a 49-6 victory against Cross Creek on Friday night. Fuller completed 11-of-13 passes for 265 yards, a season-high four TDs and one INT.

FOOTBALl: Hall leads Lions past Bulldogs

DACULA – It was the Gavin Hall show on Friday night at Burlingame Field. The Hebron Christian quarterback scored all five Lions’ touchdowns in a 35-28 win over Morgan County. Hall was effective both through the air and on the ground. He completed 9-of-14 pass attempts for 241 yards and four scores.
