LOA boys, girls earn postseason awards

Several members of Lake Oconee Academy’s basketball teams earned All-Region honors after the end of the season.Three Titans received All-Region honors, and four Lady Titans were recognized on the postseason awards list.

Maidens triumph over Lady Titans in first round of playoffs

Charlton County used a strong second-half effort to pull out a 67–51 win over Lake Oconee Academy on Feb. 18 in the first round of the Class A Division II state playoffs.The Maidens (21-7) advanced to the second round, where they lost 72-56 to No. 1 Randolph-Clay.

Lady Titans seeking fifth straight region title

The Lake Oconee Academy Lady Titans have won the past four region championships and seek a fifth straight.They’ve dominated Class A Division II’s Region 8 the past four seasons and entered this week’s tournament as the No. 2 seed behind Washington-Wilkes.

Lady Titans pull away late to defeat Lady Tigers

Lake Oconee Academy girls basketball pulled away late in the fourth quarter to defeat Greene County on Jan. 25.The Lady Titans led 44-37 with 1:39 remaining, but a late surge by their opponent kept the game close. The Lady Tigers went on a quick 5-0 run to cut the score to 44-42 with 18.

Lady Titans off to strong start

Following a strong start, Lake Oconee Academy girls basketball is now midway through the 2024-25 season.The Lady Titans went into the two-week holiday break with a 7-3 overall record and a 1-1 mark in region play.

Lady Titans ready for new year with new faces

Lake Oconee Academy girls’ basketball is ready for a new season with some new faces on the roster.The Lady Titans finished last season 20-9 overall and were 10-2 in league play on their way to capturing another region title.
