LOA boys, girls earn postseason awards

Several members of Lake Oconee Academy’s basketball teams earned All-Region honors after the end of the season.Three Titans received All-Region honors, and four Lady Titans were recognized on the postseason awards list.

Titans fall in region tournament, miss playoffs

The Lake Oconee Academy boys basketball team saw its season end in the region tournament on Feb. 11.Lincoln County defeated the Titans 60-35 in the quarterfinal round, ending their hopes of making the postseason for the first time in program history.

Second-half surge leads Tigers past Titans

A strong second-half performance propelled Greene County past Lake Oconee Academy on Jan. 25.The Tigers led by one at the break and outscored the Titans 55-23 in the second half to win 81- 49.Greene County coach Mark Wright was proud of his team’s adjustments in the second half.

Titans ready to face a ‘gauntlet’

Lake Oconee Academy boys basketball heads down the season’s final stretch in a good place.The Titans, who are 13-5 overall and 5-1 in the region, are gearing up for an action-packed finish.LOA coach Josiah Rechenbach is happy his team is seeing success but wants his players to stay focused.

Titans learn to win through early season success

Lake Oconee Academy basketball is off to its best start in program history. On Tuesday, the Titans easily defeated Taliaferro County, matching their win total from last season at eight victories, also a program record.

Titans eager to return to hardwood

Lake Oconee Academy boys’ basketball is ready to hit the court after barely missing the playoffs last year.The Titans finished last season 8-19 and sixth in the region. They are looking to build on a single season that included the most wins in the program’s short history.
