Piedmont Water holds community meetings

Piedmont Water fined for February spill at Reynolds

A $5,000 fine was levied against Piedmont Water, the major water and sewer utility company in Greene County, by the Environmental Protection Division (EPD) following an investigation into a major raw sewage spill that occurred in late February this year.

Piedmont CEO speaks about sewage spilled into Lake Oconee

February 23rd dawned clear and sunny in Greensboro. The city went about its business, students entered and exited schools, golfers appeared on the courses, and some boaters on the lake enjoyed a brief respite from the colder temperatures that swept through the area recently.

Piedmont Water treatment plant goes online

After years of taking heat from customers for the quality of drinking water it provides, the Piedmont Water Company was expected this week to start operating its new water treatment plant.

Piedmont Water treatment plant tests begin

Piedmont Water has begun a 30-day testing period of its new water treatment plant, located off Kings Way in Reynolds Lake Oconee. The Georgia Environmental Protection Division of the Department of Natural Resources says the utility started taking daily tests of the facility’s output on June 8.
