LOA's Ian Watson never dreamed of such an honor

Lake Oconee Academy’s Ian Watson didn’t believe the news when he was named Region Player of the Year.The senior shortstop recently learned of the announcement before the Titans’ historic playoff run ended.“I’m very honored. I never thought I would’ve won it in a million years,” Watson said.

Titans’ historic season ends in semifinal

Defending Class A Division II champion Charlton County ended Lake Oconee Academy’s historic season on the diamond last Friday by sweeping the semifinal series and advancing to the state final.

Pitching helps Titans sweep Bulldogs, advance to semifinals

Jon Funderburke and Maddox Robinson were the heroes of the day, delivering a pair of stellar pitching performances that propelled Lake Oconee Academy to a series sweep over the Emanuel County Institute, securing the team’s place in the semifinal round of the Class A Division II state playoffs.

Titans win region title, sweep WilCo in first round

Last week, the Lake Oconee Academy baseball added two more accomplishments to its historic season, capturing the program's first-ever region championship and winning its 20th game.The Titans (22-4) secured the region title by winning four consecutive region games in five days.

Titans control destiny after sweeping Towns County

After losing two of three games to Washington-Wilkes last month, a Tigers’ loss and a sweep of Towns County helped Lake Oconee Academy get back into first place in the region standings heading into this week.

Titans’ baseball earn top-five ranking

The Lake Oconee Academy baseball team (11-1, 5-0) entered the week ranked No. 5 in Class A Division II.

Titans start the season off hot

Lake Oconee Academy is six games into its season and holds an impressive 5-1 overall record.The Titans’ five victories have come against Putnam County, Oglethorpe County, Jasper County, Greene County, and the Academy of Classical Education (ACE).

LOA baseball looks to build off last season’s success

Lake Oconee Academy’s baseball team had its best season in program history last year by winning 18 games and advancing to the second round of the postseason for the first time under new head coach Mark Miller.
