Dogs rack up All-Region honors

The Morgan County football team is coming off a successful season, finishing 2025 with a 12-1 record.The Dogs won a regional title and returned to the quarterfinals of the playoffs for a second straight year.

Morgan County football celebrates early signing period

Morgan County football’s Davis Strickland, Christian Monfort, and Brody Jenkins are now officially headed to play at the next level.The three seniors signed their letters of intent in a brief ceremony on Dec. 10, as part of the NCAA’s early signing period.

Perfect regular season means a lot to Morgan County seniors

Morgan County’s win over Callaway to capture the region title on Oct. 31 was special for the program.With the 43-22 win over the Cavaliers, the Dogs capped off the 2025 regular season with a perfect 10-0 record for the first time in over half a century.

Morgan County quarterback Davis Strickland recently decided where he wants to play at the next level.The senior gunslinger for the ‘Dogs chose to stay in the Peach State and recently committed to West Georgia.

Morgan County quarterback Davis Strickland recently took part in the Elite 11 camp at Gainesville High School.The Elite 11 is the top quarterback camp in the country, attracting the best signal-callers who come to compete.

‘Dogs rack up All-Region honors

After its best season since 1962, Morgan County football racked up postseason All-Region 4-AA honors.Several players were named to the All-Region first team, and four were on the honorable mention list.Senior wide receiver Jaylen Elder highlighted the postseason award list for the Dogs.

’Dogs pound Putnam behind solid offensive display

Morgan County answered the call again on offense in a 42-28 road win over Putnam County this past week.The ‘Dogs racked up 617 yards of total offense and scored 48 points in their first game against Warren County.

During last Friday’s scrimmage, Morgan County’s passing attack was on full display against Walnut Grove.The Dogs aired it out when the running game against a tough Warriors’ defensive front didn’t work.

Young nucleus helps lead Diamond Dogs

Morgan County baseball has a young nucleus of four sophomores that has helped the team succeed this year.Four sophomores – Ty Tillery, Hudson Reed, Drew Ainslie, and Davis Strickland – have contributed a lot to the program’s success.
