Morgan, Putnam ready to resume rivalry on gridiron

Putnam County and Morgan County will meet on the gridiron for the first time since 2021 this Friday in Eatonton. The ‘Dogs lead the all-time series 31-18-1, but the War Eagles have won the last two games by a combined 42-2 score.Putnam County head coach Joel Harvin is happy the rivalry is back.

‘Dogs open season with Warren County

Morgan County opens its 2024 season this Friday night at home against Class A Division II’s Warren County.Last week, the ‘Dogs scrimmaged Cherokee Bluff on the road and are now transitioning to the regular season.

Tigers, War Eagles renew rivalry

This Friday, the Greene County-Putnam County football rivalry will be renewed for the first time in five years.The teams scrimmaged each other the past two seasons, but the result will count this Friday.

Morgan County's Draco Frazzitta sets eyes on future, commits to Navy

Morgan County senior football player Draco Frazzitta recently announced where he will play at the next level.Frazzitta, a 6-foot-6, 240-pound tight end and outside linebacker for the Bulldogs, announced on Twitter he will attend the United States Naval Academy.

Morgan County to scrimmage Bears before season

Morgan County’s football team will hit the gridiron this Thursday for a preseason scrimmage at Cherokee Bluff. The Bulldogs will travel to Flowery Branch to face the Bears, who they’ve scrimmaged against the last two years.

‘Dogs host Pups for pipeline camp

Morgan County High School’s football team hosted its Pipeline Camp last week, and more than 50 kids attended.The Dogs and the coaching staff hosted children ages five through 12 at the three-day camp, which ran last Monday through Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Billy Corry Stadium.

‘Dogs move down to Class AA, will face new region opponents

Frazzitta seeing results on recruiting trail

Morgan County rising senior Draco Frazzitta has seen his hard work pay off in the last few months.Frazzitta, who plays tight end and linebacker for the Bulldogs, has garnered interest from several Division I programs in recent months and currently holds offers from Georgia State, UAB, and Navy.

‘Dogs air it out in scrimmage win over Walnut Grove

During last Friday’s scrimmage, Morgan County’s passing attack was on full display against Walnut Grove.The Dogs aired it out when the running game against a tough Warriors’ defensive front didn’t work.

Bulldogs work on fundamentals during spring practice

During its spring practice session, Morgan County football’s team has worked hard the past few weeks.The ‘Dogs hit the field at the start of the month and returned to “working on fundamentals” of the game before their spring scrimmage against Walnut Grove High School this Friday at home.
