FOOTBALL: Greene, Morgan players compete in FCA All-Star game

Several Lake Country athletes got to play football once more in their high school uniforms at the 2022 Athens-area Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) All-Star game. There were also two coaches, both from Morgan County, that got to participate in the contest.

FOOTBALL: Greene, Morgan players selected for All-Region teams

Several football players from Greene County and Morgan County have recently been named All-Region selections in their respective classifications because of their on-field performances this past season.

FOOTBALL: Dogs’ historic season ends in first round

All good things must come to an end and that’s what recently happened for Morgan County’s football team. The Bulldogs’ historic season ended in the first round of the GHSA Class AAA playoffs. No. 3-seed Liberty County defeated No. 2-seed Morgan County 19-14 at Bill Corry Stadium on Saturday.

FOOTBALL: ‘Dogs lose region title to Harlem, will face Liberty Co. in first round

Harlem defeated Morgan County 34-17 last Friday to secure the top spot in Region 4-AAA. The loss left a bad taste in the Bulldogs’ mouths, however, their goals are still in front of them. Morgan County will enter the GHSA Class AAA playoffs as the No. 2-seed.

MCCURLEY: The end is near

FOOTBALL: Fuller, Thompson help Bulldogs crush Cross Creek

Morgan County’s offensive tandem of quarterback Talan Fuller and wide receiver TJ Thompson hooked up four times in a 49-6 victory against Cross Creek on Friday night. Fuller completed 11-of-13 passes for 265 yards, a season-high four TDs and one INT.

FOOTBALL: Bulldogs play a 'Tate of Two Halves,' survive a late scare against Hephzibah

Morgan County had a case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde this past week against Hephzibah. However, as Bulldogs’ second-year head coach Clint Jenkins said, “it was a tale of two halves.” It was, indeed. Morgan County defeated the Rebels 49-33 this past Friday night at Bill Corry Stadium.

FOOTBALL: ‘Dogs shutout Salem, prepare for homecoming against Hephzibah

Morgan County (5-2, Region 4-AAA) is now riding a two-game winning streak into its homecoming game this Friday against Hephzibah (4-3, 1-1 Region 4-AAA). The Bulldogs most recently defeated Salem 45-0 this past weekend at Bill Corry Stadium. “I’m pleased with the victory.

FOOTBALL: Morgan County holds off ARC in region opener

Morgan County (4-2, 1-0 Region 4-AAA) snapped a two-game losing streak last Thursday with a win over the Academy of Richmond County (3-3, 0-1 Region 4-AAA). The Bulldogs defeated the Musketeers 21-14 in their 2022 region opener. Prior to the game, they spent their bye week working on fundamentals.

FOOTBALL: Several area games moved due to inclement weather
