Kinsaul receives national award, named state TOTY finalist

During an all-school assembly Tuesday, Morgan County High School ag teacher Rachel Kinsaul was surprised with the $25,000 Milken Educator Award.Dubbed the “Oscars of teaching,” the Milken Educator Awards recognize the best teachers across the nation.

Morgan County superintendent Virgil Cole retires early

In a letter sent to the community last Friday, Morgan County Charter Schools Superintendent Dr. Virgil Cole announced his plans to retire early due to health reasons related to a recent diagnosis.

Morgan County school superintendent announces retirement

Morgan County Charter Schools Superintendent Dr. Virgil Cole will retire on May 31, 2025. In a letter to the Board of Education, staff, and community on Aug. 30, Cole announced his plans to retire, rather than seek a contract extension.Cole has been the school system’s superintendent since 2020.

MCCSS breaks ground on new $5.7 million field house

Members of the Morgan County Charter School System recently gathered with many others at Bill Corry Stadium at Morgan County High School for a groundbreaking ceremony for its new field house. According to school officials, the project is set to be completed in October.
