Volunteers come forward for city

The City of Madison has announced the formation of a citizen finance committee and will join thousands of communities nationwide that already feature similar groups.

Prior Farms single-family rental homes open in Madison

Woda Cooper Companies Inc. and Parallel Housing Inc. celebrated the opening of Prior Farms in Madison with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Dec. 16. The $18.5 million development features 40 single-family rental homes at 1001 Harrow Street, adjacent to the Carmichael Commons townhomes.

Tourism in Morgan County, Madison exceeds pre-pandemic level

The Madison Morgan County Convention & Visitors Bureau recently announced that tourism in Morgan County generated $65.3 million in spending in 2024.

Madison celebrates Christmas

The City of Madison held its annual Christmas Parade on Dec. 14. Various floats, walking groups, vintage cars, horses, dogs, dancers, and the award-winning Morgan County High School Band traveled into town on East Avenue, Hancock Street, and made a right turn onto Jefferson Street toward Town Park.

Madison hosts Vote Your Values Festival

Madison’s Town Park hosted the Vote Your Values Festival on Oct. 26, the last Saturday to vote in the 2024 election.According to a press release announcing the event, voters could stroll to the poll with the festival’s fitness team or catch a ride on the “Votemobile” shuttle.

MAD Hospitality sees success since 2020 opening

MAD Hospitality of downtown Madison was established in 2020 by Thomas Preston Real Estate. After four years of business, the company owns seven projects, including five restaurants, a unique event venue, and The New South Motor Inn at 1240 Eatonton Rd.
