KNOXVILLE - The top 15 matchup between Georgia and Tennessee turned into an instant classic Sept. 13, as the No. 6 Bulldogs defeated the No. 15 Volunteers 44-41 in overtime.It was a game that fans of each team won’t soon forget.

Georgia defeated FCS foe Austin Peay 28-6 on Sept. 6 in a game that included a two-hour lightning delay.The Bulldogs overcame a sloppy performance on offense to beat the Governors.

Georgia to face high-powered Vols offense

No. 6 Georgia will face its first test of the season next Saturday in its SEC and road opener against No. 15 Tennessee.The Bulldogs (2-0) are coming off wins against weaker competition in Marshall and Austin Peay.

Stockton leads Georgia past Marshall in opener

 Georgia easily defeated Marshall in its season opener on Saturday, largely due to the performance of quarterback Gunner Stockton.In his first start at Sanford Stadium for the No. 4 Bulldogs, Stockton scored four touchdowns in the lopsided 45-7 victory.

I have been monitoring the start of each season of Georgia football for almost seven decades. There was never a time when there was not a rush of adrenaline accompanying that first day of practice.Yesteryear, the players reported on Labor Day weekend.

Gunner Stockton takes on leadership role for Dawgs

Last week, when Georgia announced that quarterback Gunner Stockton would be one of three players representing the Bulldogs at SEC Media Days, it was a bit of a shock since he hasn’t been named the starter.

Georgia announces SEC Media Days players

The SEC will host its annual football media days next week in Atlanta, from July 14 to 17, at the College Football Hall of Fame and the Omni Atlanta Hotel at Centennial Park.The Bulldogs are set to attend on Tuesday, July 15, alongside players and coaches from Auburn, Tennessee, and Texas.
