Titans learn to win through early season success

Lake Oconee Academy basketball is off to its best start in program history. On Tuesday, the Titans easily defeated Taliaferro County, matching their win total from last season at eight victories, also a program record.

Titans eager to return to hardwood

Lake Oconee Academy boys’ basketball is ready to hit the court after barely missing the playoffs last year.The Titans finished last season 8-19 and sixth in the region. They are looking to build on a single season that included the most wins in the program’s short history.

Titans building ‘chemistry’ on court

Rechenbach reflects on Titans’ season

Lake Oconee Academy’s basketball team fell one game shy of making the GHSA Class A Division II state playoffs.The Titans finished the season 8-19 overall and 4-10 in region play. While that might not look good to some, head coach Josiah Rechenbach saw progression in his second season.

Titans rout Fighting Irish for second region win

Lake Oconee Academy got its second region victory of the season last week with a win over Aquinas. The Titans routed the Fighting Irish 58-31 on Saturday and snapped a four-game losing skid.

Titans compete in holiday tournament

Lake Oconee Academy traveled to Tennessee last week to play in a holiday tournament. The Titans played in the Great Smoky Mountain Classic in Gatlinburg, TN., from Dec. 27-Dec. 29. They lost to Grace Christian Academy (Tenn.) 65-45 before defeating Jackson Clay (Ky.

Titans defeat Westminster to earn first win of season

After an 0-3 start, the Lake Oconee Academy boys’ basketball team got its first win this past Saturday, with the Titans (1-3) knocking off Westminster Christian 54-41 at home in the Titans Center. Lake Oconee Academy led from the start, jumping out to a large lead by the end of the first quarter.

BASKETBALL: Tigers’ defense helps topple Titans on the road

The Greene County boys’ basketball team got back on the right track by beating a region rival last Friday night to start the new year. The Tigers traveled to Lake Oconee Academy for their first region game of 2023 and defeated the Titans 47-37.
