War Eagles rack up All-Region honors

It was recently announced that several players on the Putnam County football team received All-Region honors.The War Eagles had one player earn an individual award, 12 players named to the All-Region team, and four players garnering honorable mentions.

Putnam pounds Greene with ground game

Putnam County relied on a strong running game to defeat Greene County 42-15 in the season opener on Aug. 15.The War Eagles (1-0) had two running backs – senior Omarion Butts and sophomore Kumari – who made the biggest impact.

Dogs favored over War Eagles in rivalry game

Putnam County (1-0) and Morgan County (1-0) will renew their rivalry Friday night at Bill Corry Stadium in Madison. Last season, the Dogs defeated the War Eagles 42-28 in a shootout. Morgan is favored to win 48-16 this year, according to the Massey Ratings prediction by On3.com.

Putnam County prepares to scrimmage West Laurens

Putnam County football is ready to get started. The War Eagles will suit up this Friday to host West Laurens for a 7:30 p.m.scrimmage at Al Reaves Field.

Morgan, Putnam ready to resume rivalry on gridiron

Putnam County and Morgan County will meet on the gridiron for the first time since 2021 this Friday in Eatonton. The ‘Dogs lead the all-time series 31-18-1, but the War Eagles have won the last two games by a combined 42-2 score.Putnam County head coach Joel Harvin is happy the rivalry is back.

This Friday, the Greene County-Putnam County football rivalry will be renewed for the first time in five years.The teams scrimmaged each other the past two seasons, but the result will count this Friday.

Putnam preps for preseason scrimmage

Putnam County’s football team will travel to Dexter to scrimmage West Laurens at 7:30 p.m. this Friday.The War Eagles’ scrimmage against the Raiders will be the first of two this preseason. They will face former region foe and long-time rival Washington County on Aug.

War Eagles football hosts padded camp

Putnam County’s football team hit the gridiron hard last week, hosting nearly a dozen teams for a two-day padded camp.

PCHS football golf tourney exceeds expectations

Putnam County High School’s football boosters raised money to support this season’s program with their annual golf tournament Saturday at Harbor Club in Greensboro.The tournament kicked off around 9 a.m. and lasted a couple of hours. Each team played 18 holes of golf.
