Lady Tigers make history, win first round playoff game in more than a decade

The Greene County girls soccer team entered the GHSA Class A Division II playoffs as the third seed out of Area 6, and they certainly made the most of it. The Lady Tigers took on the Lady Lions of Christian Heritage on April 11 and came out victorious with a final score of 2-0.

Greene County baseball gets first win of the season

The Greene County baseball team isn’t one of the premier programs at the school, but the players that take the diamond every day love it immensely. The Tigers have played 10 non-varsity games so far this season, and they earned their first win last Monday over the Tigers of Washington-Wilkes.

Tigers tab Fortson as new wrestling head coach

Greene County’s wrestling program has seen its ups and downs over the last 30 years, but it’s looking to change that with its most recent hire. The GCHS administration just signed Aubrey Fortson, who will be taking over for former head coach Todd Clifton.

Lady Tigers fall to Taylor in Sweet 16

After upsetting No. 2 seed Greenforest in the first round of Class A Division II state playoffs, No. 3 seed Greene County faced top-seeded Taylor County on Friday night.

Lady Tigers knock off Greenforest, advance to second round of state

The No. 3 seed Greene County Lady Tigers went on the road earlier this week and defeated the Greenforest Lady Eagles 47-43 in the first round of the Class A Division II state playoffs.

Playoff Bound: Lady Tigers headed to postseason after win over Washington-Wilkes

The Greene County girls basketball team is returning to the postseason for the first time in two years.  The Lady Tigers defeated Washington-Wilkes 47-39 on Tuesday. They will now move on to the region semifinals, which also qualifies them for the Class A Division II state playoffs.
