Greene boys, girls earn All-Region recognition

Greene County’s basketball teams had several players named to the All-Region team following the 2024-25 season.The Tigers dominated the All-Region honors, as head coach Mark Wright and six players garnered postseason accomplishments.

Tigers suffer loss to Bucs in Final Four

MILLEDGEVILLE – Greene County faced a setback in the fourth quarter of last week’s Final Four matchup against McIntosh County Academy, enabling the Bucs to clinch a 49-41 victory and move on to the state title game.

Greene's boys continue postseason run to Elite Eight

Greene County basketball continued its playoff run last week, advancing to the Elite Eight round of the Class A Division II playoffs after securing victories over Charlton County and Calhoun County.

Tigers capture first region title in a decade

The Greene County boys basketball team recently won its first region championship in a decade.The Tigers (19-7) won the Class A Division II Region 8 title with a 76-61 win over Warren County (18-9).Greene had previously beaten Warren twice in the regular season, but last Friday’s win wasn’t easy.

Second-half surge leads Tigers past Titans

A strong second-half performance propelled Greene County past Lake Oconee Academy on Jan. 25.The Tigers led by one at the break and outscored the Titans 55-23 in the second half to win 81- 49.Greene County coach Mark Wright was proud of his team’s adjustments in the second half.

Burt scores 1,000th point as Greene tops Towns

The Greene County boys’ basketball team recently ended the first part of the regular season with a winning record.The Tigers have an overall record of 7-6, having faced tough competition through the first two months of the season.
