Charter renewal rests with a signature from LOA

In a firm statement received from the Board of Education (BOE), the five-year charter renewal application has been signed, sealed and delivered and is in the hands of Lake Oconee Academy (LOA). No more discussions between the two organizations will occur following a lengthy, months-long review.

BOE avoids inflation by rolling back millage rate

Last week, the Greene County Board of Education (BOE) met to announce a new millage rate of 10.311 and budget for fiscal year 2024. The millage rate has dropped every year since 2018, and the BOE recently broke ground on a new elementary school being built off Meadow Crest Road.
