GDOT to implement Hwy. 44 bridge widening

The Georgia Department of Transportation will conduct work on the Highway 44 bridge over I-20 in Greensboro on Aug. 28 and again from Sept. 1-3.A traffic shift is scheduled for Aug. 28 as part of the Phase 1 widening project.

GDOT: No delays expected during 44 expansion

The Georgia Department of Transportation’s project to widen SR 44 has begun, but no lane closures or traffic delays are expected because of the project in the foreseeable future.The first phase of the project was awarded to Pittman Construction Company over the summer.
