Strong first half propels Morgan to defeat Greene

Morgan County used a fast offensive start in the first half to defeat rival Greene County 35-13 this past Friday.The ‘Dogs (4-0) played with a sense of urgency to start the game, which was encouraging to their head coach.

Morgan County travels to Athens to face Cedar Shoals

Morgan County (4-0) hits the road again this Friday for a matchup with Cedar Shoals (0-3) in Athens.The ‘Dogs, who are now ranked No. 2 in Class AA, aim to extend their winning streak to five this week. They’ll be taking on a winless Jaguars team who had a bye last Friday to prepare for this game.

‘Dogs win physical battle over Oconee

Morgan County improved to 3-0 overall this past Friday with a 24-13 victory over Oconee County. The Dogs (3-0) topped the Warriors (0-3) in a slugfest, led by a physical effort on each side of the ball.

Greene, Morgan to face off on Friday

Greene County and Morgan County, a battle of two ranked and undefeated teams, will meet this Friday in Madison.The Tigers are off to a 3-0 start and are ranked No. 6 in Class A Division II. On the other hand, the Dogs are also 3-0 overall and ranked No. 2 in Class AA.

’Dogs pound Putnam behind solid offensive display

Morgan County answered the call again on offense in a 42-28 road win over Putnam County this past week.The ‘Dogs racked up 617 yards of total offense and scored 48 points in their first game against Warren County.

‘Dogs rout Warren with offensive explosion

Morgan County dominated Warren County in its season opener with a 48-16 victory last Friday at home.The Dogs’ offense didn’t skip a beat, totaling 617 yards across four quarters to power them to a win.“We moved the ball well,” Morgan head coach Cliint Jenkins said.

Morgan, Putnam ready to resume rivalry on gridiron

Putnam County and Morgan County will meet on the gridiron for the first time since 2021 this Friday in Eatonton. The ‘Dogs lead the all-time series 31-18-1, but the War Eagles have won the last two games by a combined 42-2 score.Putnam County head coach Joel Harvin is happy the rivalry is back.

‘Dogs open season with Warren County

Morgan County opens its 2024 season this Friday night at home against Class A Division II’s Warren County.Last week, the ‘Dogs scrimmaged Cherokee Bluff on the road and are now transitioning to the regular season.

Morgan County's Draco Frazzitta sets eyes on future, commits to Navy

Morgan County senior football player Draco Frazzitta recently announced where he will play at the next level.Frazzitta, a 6-foot-6, 240-pound tight end and outside linebacker for the Bulldogs, announced on Twitter he will attend the United States Naval Academy.

Morgan County to scrimmage Bears before season

Morgan County’s football team will hit the gridiron this Thursday for a preseason scrimmage at Cherokee Bluff. The Bulldogs will travel to Flowery Branch to face the Bears, who they’ve scrimmaged against the last two years.
