All about ‘mindset’ for Morgan County coach Clint Jenkins

The school year has officially kicked off, meaning Friday-night lights are just around the corner.After a successful 2024 season, Morgan County is anticipating its return to Bill Corry Stadium, where the ‘Dogs remained undefeated last season before finishing 11-2 overall.

Area football teams host scrimmages this week

High school football in Georgia began on Friday, Aug. 1, as teams across the state participated in scrimmages.This week, scrimmages will continue.

Morgan County running back commits to West Georgia

Morgan County senior running back Christian Monfort announced last Monday that he has committed to play at West Georgia.Monfort chose to stay in-state and commit to the Wolves, who became a Division I program last year.

Morgan County specialist Brody Jenkins has found his college home by recently committing to Army.A two-way player for the Dogs, Jenkins served as both a linebacker and long snapper, the position he expects to play at the next level. He chose the Black Knights over Auburn, Air Force, and Navy.

‘Dogs rack up All-Region honors

After its best season since 1962, Morgan County football racked up postseason All-Region 4-AA honors.Several players were named to the All-Region first team, and four were on the honorable mention list.Senior wide receiver Jaylen Elder highlighted the postseason award list for the Dogs.
