Dogs’ season begins amid some changes

The Morgan County boys soccer team enters the 2026 season facing an unusual start — and an immediate test.After weather disruptions and scheduling issues wiped out the Dogs’ usual preseason scrimmage schedule, Morgan County opened the year without the benefit of a true practice game.

Dogs fall to Jackson in second round

Both regular-season games between Morgan County and Jackson were decided by a single goal, with each team winning one of the first two contests. This was also the case in last week’s second-round playoff matchup.

Three Dogs sign to play at next level

Last Friday, three Morgan County soccer players put pen to paper as they signed to play soccer at the college level.Both Blake Downs and Chase Link signed to play at Truett-McConnell College, and Teddy Young is headed to Toccoa Falls College.

Senior leadership paves way for Morgan boys' success

The Morgan County boys soccer team features a veteran-led roster this season.The Dogs are off to a great start in 2025, thanks to the leadership of their seniors as they compete against three other teams for the Region 4-AA championship. They aim to win a league title under coach Aaron Paul.

Morgan County boys' soccer takes down Peach, falls to Oconee in Elite Eight

Morgan County soccer coach Aaron Paul thought about last season’s loss to Peach County in the second round of the playoffs for nearly a year.However, after last Wednesday’s 4-2 victory over the Trojans in this year’s second-round rematch, Paul felt a sense of happiness and relief.

4-PEAT: ‘Dogs edge ARC to capture region title

Morgan County soccer topped the Academy of Richmond last week to capture its fourth straight region title.The Dogs completed the season sweep of the Musketeers, winning 2-1 to lock up the top seed in Region 4-AAA entering the postseason next week.
