Following the end of the 2025 season, Morgan County’s soccer teams had several players earn postseason recognition.
The school had seven representatives combined named to the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association’s All-State teams.
Four Lady Dogs earned the postseason honor. Seniors Jaden Young and Kate Reynolds, along with sophomore Chloe Cook, were selected to the first team, while freshman Brayden Burke made the second team.
Morgan County girls’ head coach Anne Stamps was proud of these players for working hard this past season.
“It is a great honor [for these four girls] to be recognized among [some of the] best players in the state,” Stamps told the Lake Oconee News. “I am so happy that the hard work of our girls is being recognized.”
Cook, Burke, Reynolds, and Young were also named to the All-Region first team. Seniors Mia McClain and Abigail Benoff, along with juniors Katherine Smyrl and Molly Mockaitis, received second-team honors.
The Lady Dogs reached new heights this season by advancing to the semifinals. Unfortunately, they lost to Savannah Arts Academy 3-2, ending their historic postseason run and 2025 season, which included a 14-6 record.
The Dogs also had three players named to the All-State team.
Senior Blake Downs was selected for the first team. Another pair of seniors — Julian Tenorio and Teddy Young — were named to the All-State second team.
Morgan County boys’ head coach Aaron Paul was happy to see three of his seniors make the All-State teams.
“Those guys love the game and have played their entire lives,” Paul said. “They have made their mark on Morgan County soccer. Teddy and Blake are continuing their careers, and Julian had an offer to go to the next level as well. They deserve as many accolades as possible, and I couldn’t be more proud. I am the luckiest high school coach in the state because I consistently have players like this year after year.”
The Dogs also had several players garner All-Region honors.
Young was named Region Co-Player of the Year and earned a spot on the first team, along with Downs, Tenorio, and two other seniors: Kentucky Outlaw and Carson Keener. Senior Chase Link, along with juniors Korbin Hedgwood, Rocco Biscoglia, and Larson Detienne, plus freshman Ashland Outlaw, were second-team selections.
Morgan County’s boys were ranked No. 1 in Class AA and captured the top overall seed in the state playoffs after winning the region championship. However, the Dogs ultimately fell in the second round to region rival Jackson in the Sweet 16 round of the postseason, ending their 2025 campaign with a 13-5 record.
