The Lake Oconee Academy golf teams are used to success.
Both the Titans and Lady Titans swept the GHSA A-Public area championships last week at Double Oaks in Commerce, Ga.
That feat marks the second straight season that both LOA teams have swept the tournament. It’s also the second year in a row that both squads earned the low-medalist award.
The Lady Titans shot a combined lowest score of 153, edging out several other schools to secure first place.
Senior Kelli Scheck earned the girls’ low medalist award with a score of 75. The Butler signee beat sophomore Georgia Bosart by three strokes.
The Titans combined for a score of 137 as both Colby Bennett and Drew Williams had successful days.
Bennett was the boys’ low-medalist with a score of 68, which barely beat out Williams, who was one shot back.
Also, senior Rylan Black, who is signed to play golf at Kennesaw State, shot a 70 for the day.
The Class A-Public state championship tournament is May 16-17.
The Titans will be playing in Statesboro, while the Lady Titans will be competing in Metter.
