On Sunday, Feb. 12, news media reported on the third downing of an unidentified object flying in airspace over North America since Feb. 4.
That was when the takedown of a Chinese spy balloon precipitated heightened alert and greater scrutiny of our high-altitude airspace. Yet to date, President Biden has offered Americans no explanation of these events nor any commentary on the defense policy being adopted in response.
We Americans don’t know what we don’t know.
We want to know for how long this type of surveillance has been going on. Could this activity by foreign governments pose a potential threat of munition payloads being delivered by future high-altitude flying objects? We have many questions to which answers are deserved.
President Biden repeatedly uses the word transparent in relation to how his administration conducts policy.
Defined figuratively, that means a state in which things are free from any attempt to hide something. Literally, transparency means the ability to be seen through.
Which is it for you, Mr. President? I’m beginning to wonder what you don’t know. Actually, I’m becoming more inclined to assign the literal definition to you whenever I hear you use the word transparent.
