Letter to the Editor: LOA has lost sight of the focus

Dear Editor:

As you know we have been totally involved in the LOA and BOE lawsuit and feud here in Greene County.

As you know they have wasted tremendous amounts of our tax dollars and human resources in this battle and have lost sight of the focus they need to be putting on our kids here in Greene County, as evidenced by LOA’s falling test scores.

This has been going on for two years and we have been heavily involved for 11 months and yet the battle and war still continues.

I have been told that the Greene County BOE has made yet another offer to LOA so that this war and stupidity will stop.

It is now up to the LOA board to accept this offer and stop the lawsuit so that we can get on with the future of our schools in our beloved county.

Therefore, I strongly encourage you to attend the LOA board meeting on Aug. 1 at 5:30 p.m. at the LOA high school. You do not have to speak unless you want to, but we need your support by showing up and letting them see that we as taxpayers and loyal Greene County residents are tired of this and it needs to be resolved right now and not a minute longer.

Two LOA board meetings ago the new Board Chairmen Michael Tompkins shook my hand and said they would put this to bed by the end of July. Well that time is here and he needs to uphold his word and get this settled.

PLEASE PLEASE be at the meeting and let them know that you are tired of the wasteful behavior of this war and want it resolved RIGHT NOW.
